Alpaca DEX Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) explains how Alpaca DEX (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares data in connection with our website alpacadex.com, our iOS mobile application (the “App”), and all of our other properties, products, and services (collectively, the “Services”).

High Level Summary #

  • Alpaca DEX is a decentralized automated market-maker (AMM) built exclusively on the Keeta Blockchain.
  • We operate the website and user interface at alpacadex.com. The underlying smart contracts on Keeta are censorship-resistant and operate autonomously.
  • We do not require you to create a centrally managed account, provide personal details such as your full name or street address to trade, or link your wallet address to personally identifiable information.
  • We do not collect or store personal data such as your full name, street address, date of birth, or email address in connection with your normal use of the Services.
  • What we do collect is minimal: publicly‐available on-chain address data (when you connect your wallet), device/browser information for analytics, and any email you provide if you opt-in (for instance to receive announcements).
  • You should assume that your activity on the Keeta Blockchain is publicly visible on-chain and cannot be erased by us (or anyone).
  • If we make material changes to this Policy, we’ll publish an updated version at alpacadex.com/privacy (or equivalent) and update the “Last modified” date above.

Data We Collect #

Privacy is central to everything we do. We aim to be transparent about the few categories of data we collect or handle:

  1. Public On-Chain Address Data.
When you connect your non-custodial Keeta wallet to our UI, we may log your wallet address (which is publicly available on the blockchain) for the sole purpose of enabling your use of the Services, and for monitoring for illicit behaviour (see “How We Use Data” section). A wallet address is not by itself linked to your name or contact details unless you voluntarily disclose them elsewhere.
  2. Device/Browser/Usage Metadata.
We may collect or log information such as your browser type and version, operating system, device type, language settings, referring/exit pages, timestamps of your session, and similar data. We may also use cookies, local storage or other tracking technologies to remember e.g., tokens you have added, preferences you set, or features you select.
  3. Opt-in Email Address.
If you choose to provide us your email address (for example, to subscribe to updates, announcements or product news), we will store that email and may send periodic communications. We will never link that email to your wallet address, IP address or other personal data unless you explicitly consent.
  4. Correspondence and Support Communications.
If you contact us (via email to contact@alpacadex.com) or through a support channel), we will collect the information you send (for example, your email, wallet address, description of the issue) to respond to your inquiry or assist with support.
  5. Other Sources.
We may receive off‐chain information or risk‐screening data about your wallet address (for example, whether your address appears on a sanctions or illicit-activity list) via third-party blockchain analytics providers, in our capacity to manage risk and security of the Services.

You do not need to supply any personal data in order to connect a wallet and use the core swap / pool / liquidity features of Alpaca DEX.

When using our iOS App, we may collect limited, non-identifiable information through Apple-provided frameworks such as App Analytics or Crash Reports to improve stability and performance. These data are aggregated and do not identify individual users.

How We Use Data #

We use the data we collect consistent with your use of the Services and as permitted under applicable laws:

  • Providing & improving the Services. We use on-chain and usage metadata to operate, maintain, customize and improve our Services. For example: enabling wallet connectivity, remembering your preferences in the interface, analysing wallet‐behaviour trends, identifying tokens you import, improving UI/UX flows.
  • Customer support & communications. We may use your opt-in email and correspondence history to respond to your inquiries, send you updates (if subscribed), and to manage our support operations.
  • Security, risk-management & legal compliance. We use wallet address screening (via analytics providers) and on-chain monitoring to detect, investigate or mitigate fraudulent, illicit or unauthorized activity, adherence to sanctions/AML obligations, enforcement of our Terms of Service, and protection of the Services and the broader Keeta ecosystem.
  • Aggregated analytics. We may aggregate or anonymize data (for example, wallet activity counts, token swap volumes, feature usage) to gain insights into how our Services are used, where we can improve, and to develop new features. These aggregated data do not identify individual users.
  • Legal obligations. We may process or disclose data as required by law, regulation or legal process (e.g., subpoenas, court orders, government requests). We will do so only as required.

How We Share Data #

We may share or disclose the data we collect under the following categories:

  • Service providers / vendors. We may share wallet addresses or analytics data with third-party infrastructure providers (e.g., hosted node services, analytics providers, cloud providers) to assist us in operating and supporting the Services. These providers are contractually required to treat data in accordance with this Policy.
  • Legal, regulatory or safety disclosures. We may share data to respond to lawful requests by public authorities, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the Company or the ecosystem.
  • Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution or sale of assets, user data (including wallet addresses, email opt-ins, aggregated analytics) may be transferred to a successor entity.
  • With your consent. We may share data in other circumstances if you give explicit consent.
  • No marketing resale. We do not sell or share your data (wallet address, email address, or other personal data) to third-parties for direct marketing purposes without your consent.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies #

We and our third‐party service providers may access or collect data from your browser’s local storage, cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to support and personalise your experience. For example, we may use cookies to remember which tokens you starred, track your session state, or analytics usage flows.

You can choose to block or clear cookies in your browser. However, blocking necessary cookies may impair your ability to use certain parts of the Services. For more information, please check your browser settings or visit the website of your browser vendor.

Third-Party Links and Sites #

Our Services may contain links to external websites, platforms or services which we do not control (for example, token explorer links, third-party dApps). When you interact with these other parties, they may collect information independently of us. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any such third-party sites or services. We do not assume any responsibility for their privacy practices.

Security #

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect data from loss, theft, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. However, no internet transmission or data storage can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.

You are responsible for safeguarding your own blockchain wallet(s), private keys, credentials, and for understanding the risks of using decentralized finance/risk technologies. We strongly recommend you use best practices for wallet security (such as hardware wallets, secure seed phrase storage, avoiding phishing sites, verifying contract addresses) when interacting with the Services on the Keeta Blockchain.

Age Requirements #

The Services are intended for use by a general audience and are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data (such as a name or email address) from children under 18. If we become aware that personal data of a child under 18 has been collected, we will take steps to delete such data as required by applicable law.

Additional Notice to California Residents (“CCPA Notice”) #

If you are a resident of California, under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) you have certain rights regarding how your personal information is collected, used and shared. Briefly:

  • We do not “sell” your personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA.
  • You have the right to request information about how we have collected, used and shared your personal information, request a copy of such information, and request deletion of your personal information — to the extent that we can identify it and link it to you.
  • To submit such a request, please email: contact@alpacadex.com. We may require verification of your identity to respond.
  • We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
  • Please note that blockchain transaction data and wallet address information may be publicly stored on-chain and are beyond our exclusive control.

Notice to European Union / EEA Data Subjects (GDPR Notice) #

If you are located in the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • The right to request access to any personal data we hold about you.
  • The right to request correction, deletion or restriction of processing of your personal data.
  • The right to objection to processing and, where applicable, the right to data portability.
  • Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.
  • Please note that information stored on the Keeta Blockchain (such as your wallet address, token holdings or transaction history) is outside our ability to erase or modify.
  • To exercise your rights, please contact us at contact@alpacadex.com. We may request verification of your identity.
  • We will respond to requests in accordance with applicable laws and our obligations.

Changes to this Policy #

We may update this Policy from time to time (for example, to reflect new services, legal/regulatory changes, or improved privacy practices). When we make material changes, we will publish the updated Policy on our website and update the “Last modified” date at the top. Your continued use of the Services after such changes indicates your acceptance of the new Policy.
