When using Alpaca DEX, you’ll notice that we support both Keeta Mainnet and Keeta Testnet.
Understanding the difference between these two networks is important before you start trading, launching tokens, or providing liquidity.
⚙️ What is the Keeta Testnet? #
The Testnet is a sandbox version of the Keeta blockchain — a safe environment made for testing.
Here, transactions don’t use real funds. Developers, early users, and projects can test token launches, liquidity deposits and trades without any financial risk.
On Alpaca DEX, the Testnet is ideal if you want to:
- Try out how trading and liquidity provision work before going live
- Launch and test your token’s behavior in a simulated market
- Explore Keeta’s transaction speed, fees, and DEX interface safely
💡 Testnet tokens have no real-world value — they are purely for testing.
You can get them them through the Keeta Faucet.
To use the Faucet check out our tutorial.
💰 What is the Keeta Mainnet? #
The Mainnet is the live version of the Keeta blockchain — where real trading happens.
Transactions on Mainnet use real KTA tokens and real value.
All data, liquidity, and token balances reflect the actual on-chain state and market conditions.
On Alpaca DEX, the Mainnet is where you:
- Trade and provide liquidity with real assets
- Earn trading fees and potential rewards
- Interact with verified tokens and active projects
Every transaction on Mainnet is final and recorded permanently on the Keeta blockchain visible in the Keeta Explorer.
🔄 Same Wallet — Two Networks #
Your wallet address on Keeta is the same for both Mainnet and Testnet.
That means:
- You don’t need to create a separate wallet for testing.
- The same address and private key work across both networks.
- Only the network selection (Mainnet or Testnet) changes the environment you’re interacting with.
This setup makes switching between networks seamless — you can test confidently on Testnet, then deploy or trade live on Mainnet without changing wallets.
